The Face & Neck Liposuction Procedure
To start your face and/or neck liposuction procedure, we’ll first start by administering local or general anesthesia for your comfort. Plenty of numbing medication will be injected both to limit discomfort and to facilitate the procedure. From there, Dr. Hassanzadeh will make tiny needle pokes around the neck, jawline, or behind the earlobes. She will then insert a small cannula to loosen and suction out the excess fat, sculpting and contouring the face and neck area. The procedure takes anywhere from 1-2 hours.
Face & Neck Liposuction Recovery
After your surgery, you will likely have some redness, swelling, bruising, and numbness, but those side effects will dissipate over the next few weeks as you recover and heal. Depending on where the fat was removed, you may need to wear a chin strap for a week or two to ease swelling and help the healing process. You will need to take at least a week off work and should be able to return to full activity after two weeks.
You may see some results immediately, but it will take 3-6 months to see the full results.

Who is a Candidate?
Ideal candidates for face and neck liposuction are patients in generally good health who have realistic expectations, nonsmokers, and those looking to address unwanted fat in the face and/or neck area. The procedure is not considered a weight loss procedure and is meant for those at a stable weight with good skin elasticity. We don’t recommend this surgery for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding or those with certain medical conditions.
