After reshaping, the nasal skin and tissue are redraped over the nose. The incisions are then closed, and an external nasal cast is applied to keep the nose in place while healing.
The entire procedure typically takes between 1 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of your surgery.
Ethnic Rhinoplasty Recovery
Recovery typically lasts 7-10 days for the initial phase, with full results taking up to a year to become fully apparent. During the first week, you may experience swelling, bruising, discomfort, and nasal congestion. Dr. Hassanzadeh will prescribe you pain medication to ensure comfort after your surgery. A splint or bandage will be placed on the nose to support and protect your nose. Dr. Hassanzadeh will discuss recovery and provide you with detailed instructions on how to take care of yourself during the recovery period.
Swelling and bruising usually last 2-3 weeks. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work after 7-10 days. However, it’s recommended to avoid vigorous activities, showers, blowing your nose, and wearing glasses for about 2 weeks following the surgery.
Who is a Candidate?
Candidates for ethnic rhinoplasty are typically non-Caucasian individuals who are unhappy with the shape, size, or projection of their nose and wish to enhance their appearance while preserving their ethnic features.
Ideal candidates should be nonsmokers, generally healthy, have realistic expectations about the outcome and have no major medical issues.
